Predicative possessive constructions in Japanese and Korean

Abstract

A theory of the prototypical possessiveness is first suggested as a reference point for the investigation of the predicative possessive construction cross-linguistically. Then, this approach is tested on the data from Japanese and Korean (with some reference to Latin and the modern Romance languages)
